W.A.G.S Member Spotlight – Brooke

W.A.G.S. (Women’s Annual Giving Society) Member spotlight on Brooke, a volunteer Dog Walker, Pet Walk Sponsor, and owner of Mind Body Paws!

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your pet:
Pictured above is BBQ Chip and me, Brooke – we are pleased to meet you! With roots both here in Tampa and New Jersey, Chip and I know all the best dog friendly spots on I-95. Chip, like me, loves to learn new things and he is food motivated, also like me.
I’m lucky enough to have had my hobby turned into my profession, so because I’m still in the building phase of my business, it’s rare when I’m not engaged in dog related activities. I do, however, still make time for riding my bike, cooking, and drinking wine.

Tell us about your business, Mind Body Paws!
Mind Body Paws solves dog behavior problems. Using methods that are force-free and fun, I teach people how to get the behavior they want from their dogs, so they can live with less stress and experience more joy.
Even if you don’t need a dog trainer, my blog is packed with tons of valuable and free content in the areas of pet health, behavior, and enrichment. To learn more about training services or the blog visit www.mindbodypaws.dog, or follow us on either Instagram or Facebook.

What’s your favorite pet friendly place to go or activity to do with your pet?
Wherever I go, Chip follows and oh, the places we go!  Davis Island Dog Beach, Enterprise Dog Park, Skyway Park, Revolution Ice Cream and Pup’s Pub are amongst our favorite local spots.
Our favorite destination daytrips to take are to Savannah and Washington DC.
Our favorite family activity is hide and seek. We praise and pet Chip when he finds us and Chip wags his tail and jumps up excitedly. Although it’s nothing more than a silly game, we always end up laughing deeply and smiling.

What inspired you to join W.A.G.S.?
W.A.G.S. combines community service, animal welfare and women empowerment, all topics that I’m passionate about, so it was easy to make a commitment. You can find me on any given day of the week volunteering to walk the shelter dogs at SPCA Tampa Bay, so look for the W.A.G.S. nametag. I am excited to form connections with all our members!
