Richard Hurt, DVM (Board Certified Surgeon), DACVS
Dr. Ric Hurt is a board certified small animal veterinary surgeon. He is originally from Cocoa Beach, Florida and went to vet school at the University of Florida. After graduating, Dr. Hurt spent time working in emergency medicine and shelter medicine at the Sacramento SPCA. He then completed a surgical internship at Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver, Colorado and a surgical residency at Mississippi State University. He has interests in both soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries. In his free time, Dr. Hurt considers himself a shade tree mechanic and a blues guitarist. He likes to spend time outdoors whenever possible. Dr. Hurt’s best friends are a scruffy terrier named Ruffles and a cat named Carl. He is also known to have a few foster kittens hanging around at his house.
