Spread The Humanimality, Not The Coronavirus

SPCA Tampa Bay is a for-all shelter and we care deeply about the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, customers, donors and pets. We understand the concerns and stress many of us are experiencing and are closely monitoring the status of COVID-19. As a for-all shelter our goal is to stay open and offer as many of our standard services as possible.

At this time, our shelter will remain open to the public during normal business hours.

Isolating yourself in your home can be lonely, but you don’t have to do it alone! We have lots of social distancing sidekicks available for adoption! While the times seem so uncertain, there are still homeless pets that need a place to call home. Please stop in our shelter to find the stress-reducer that best fits your families needs.

If now is not the time to add to your family, please consider still lending a hand to the pets in need. Our shelter is currently in need of towels. If you have any to give, you can make a no-contact drop-off at the blue donation bins in our Largo shelter parking lot.

Together we can get through this difficult time. COVID-19 has upended the world we knew and things continue to change at lightning speed. But we do know this: First, our staff is still caring for more than 200 animals in our Largo shelter. Second, we need your help, now more than ever.

We rely on you, our donors, to fund this important work, and we know you are experiencing uncertainty in your lives, too. Supporting animals has understandably not been a priority for many during this crisis, and donations for the animals have decreased substantially.

We will not be able to hold our spring fundraiser—Pet Walk—in person as planned. While we plan to make Pet Walk an incredible virtual walk, we fully expect that fundraising will be diminished. You can still sign up and help us raise money for pets and wildlife in Pinellas County. Each $25 registrant will receive a newly designed Virtual Pet Walk t-shirt.

If you are able, please donate to help support the animals we serve. We need you now more than ever, and the work we do is only possible because of you.

During these difficult times, we also want to let you know that our community pet food bank is still operating. If you need assistance feeding your cat or dog, please call us at (727) 586-3591. The food bank pick up time is Tuesdays from 1pm-5pm. *By appointment. Please call first.*

If you are able to help others, please donate unopened pet food to Pebbles Food Bank at SPCA Tampa Bay. We offer a no-contact drop-off in the large blue donation bins in our parking lot.
