SPCA Tampa Bay Transports Another 20+ Pets From Louisiana
Animal welfare agencies everywhere are helping to Spread The Humanimality in the wake of a busy hurricane season for the Gulf Coast states. Late Tuesday night, SPCA Tampa Bay staff packed up a transport van for a 4-hour drive to the panhandle to help get displaced pets out of hurricane-stricken Louisiana. This is one of several trips we’ve recently made to team up with Louisiana SPCA. Moving pets to the Tampa Bay area is part of an effort to empty out select Louisiana shelters in anticipation of high numbers of incoming pets from areas hit by Hurricanes Laura, Sally, and Delta. More than 20 pets made the drive back to Largo with our staff and are now settling in before they embark on the next steps towards adoption.
