Class Cancellations

All group dog training classes have a minimum enrollment of three students. If a class does not reach the minimum number of students the start date may be postponed or the class may be canceled. Students enrolled in the canceled or postponed class will receive a 24 hour notice of the outcome and be given the option to enroll in an alternate start date or receive a refund.

Refund Policy

A $10 processing fee will be deducted from all refunds regardless of reason for refund.  All registration fees are non-refundable unless New Dawn Animal Behavior Center cancels the class. Please contact us if you would like to observe our training classes prior to enrolling your dog into the program.

Make Up Policy

While we understand that conflicts do arise, classes are a four week commitment and we ask you to carefully check your calendar prior to registering for your class. Make ups will only be granted if the instructor’s schedule allows.



All dogs over four months must have a current rabies vaccine and license according to Pinellas County code. Puppies 10-12 weeks may start classes but will need to receive their rabies vaccine when they are old enough, and owners will need to bring proof of vaccination once age appropriate.


All dogs less than 16 weeks of age must have started with their initial puppy vaccination series, as recommended by their veterinarian, and must have completed at least two of the DHPP series prior to starting classes. The requirement for at least two vaccines establishes adequate, but not complete, immunity to common viral diseases, so please continue with your veterinarian’s recommendations (at least 3-4 vaccine visits).

All dogs over 16 weeks of age must have completed 2 vaccine visits with their veterinarian to consider them adequately protected.

Vaccine visits for DA2PP are usually 3-4 weeks apart, based on your veterinarian’s protocols.


Vaccination is required for all dogs prior to participation in training classes.

Eligibility for Participation

For group classes, we welcome the participation of all friendly dogs.  Dogs do not have to be spayed or neutered to participate, but females in heat will not be permitted to attend class.

If during the course of the class the instructor determines that a dog’s behavior, including aggression towards people or dogs, is disruptive or dangerous we reserve the right to dismiss the dog from class.  Dogs dismissed for behavioral reasons are eligible for their class fee to be the applied towards a private lesson.

Children in Class

Children and other family members are welcome to attend training classes. Please explain to your children that not all dogs are socialized, friendly, or comfortable around children. They should not approach or pet the other dogs in class unless invited to do so.  Parents are responsible for the supervision of children at all times.

Private Lesson Cancellations

All registration fees for private lessons are non-refundable.  Registrant must provide minimum 24-hours notice in order to reschedule a private lesson.  No-call No-Show or less than 24-hour notice will result in a forfeiture of the entire registration fee.
