Planning a Legacy of Love – A Communal Pet Trust

By joining SPCA Tampa Bay’s LEGACY of LOVE COMMUNAL PET TRUST  

·         You set aside funds to care for your pet in the event you become disabled or your pet outlives you.

·         Money for your pet’s care is placed in an irrevocable trust (minimum amounts apply).  

·         You may name your pet’s guardian or entrust your pet to SPCA Tampa Bay.  

·         Your completed Pet Profile details the care you want your pet to receive and helps the new owner care for your beloved pet.

·         You take advantage of the more than 80 years of financial stability and animal care expertise of SPCA Tampa Bay.  

·         When your pet passes, any funds remaining in your account come to SPCA Tampa Bay to help animals in need.

A communal pet trust, or a pooled pet trust, is a legal financial vehicle owned and maintained by the SPCA Tampa Bay. It differs from a “traditional” pet trust in that many members are funding this trust rather than just one pet owner. This communal approach is easy to join, has low ongoing administrative costs, and no expensive attorney or accountant setup fees.
